Our story
Meet the founder
Since falling in love with (and marrying) a Turkish man, I've spent years traveling back and forth to Turkey. Every trip, I came home with more Turkish towels. The craftsmanship was incredible: thin, light, and somehow more absorbent than anything I owned. But the designs never fit my life. I wanted something that felt more modern and elevated for my home.
So I found a family-owned mill in Turkey that's been weaving on the same looms for generations, and we designed a towel for the kitchen. That's Peshi.
About the name: Peshi is short for peştemal, the flat-woven Turkish towel that's been made the same way for centuries. Now it's made for your kitchen.
Every Peshi is made at a family-owned mill in Turkey, on looms that have been running for generations. Nothing is mass-produced.
Terry kitchen towels are thick, which sounds good until they stay damp for hours and start to smell. Peshi is flat-woven, so it soaks up a spill fast and dries just as fast. It folds flat in the drawer, and it gets softer every time you wash it.
One Peshi can replace hundreds of paper towels. Here's what goes into it.
100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, grown without pesticides. GOTS checks the whole chain, from farm to finished towel, not just the fiber.
Woven by skilled craftspeople at a family mill, using techniques handed down through generations.
OEKO-TEX® certified and tested for over 100 harmful substances, because this is the towel touching your dishes and your food.
